What the central government says
The IT (Online Gaming) Rules 2023 require platforms to register with a self-regulatory body and verify users’ identity. Lucky Shots’ position on this varies by jurisdiction — operators that serve Indian customers are technically required to register with an SRB. Enforcement is uneven.

What “restricted” actually means for you
If you live in a restricted state and use Lucky Shots with Indian banking, you face operational risks:
- Payment processors may flag your UPI/IMPS transactions
- Your bank may freeze the account for “suspicious gambling activity”
- You cannot use winnings as legally protected income
- State-level investigation possible if reported
VPN does not change your state under Indian law — the location is determined by where you are physically resident, not where your IP appears.
Tax — Section 194BA
30% TDS on net winnings, no threshold. The platform deducts at source. You declare on your ITR under “Income from other sources.” Losses are NOT deductible against winnings under current rules.

Is Lucky Shots banned in India?
Not banned nationally — but banned in TN, AP, TS, OD, AS, NL, and restricted in Sikkim. The IT Rules 2023 require SRB registration; enforcement is uneven.
Can I use VPN to play in restricted states?
VPN doesn’t change your legal jurisdiction under Indian law. Where you physically live determines what state law applies — not where your IP looks like it’s coming from.
