The decision tree (use this first)

  1. Did you wait the full 90 seconds? SMS gateways are slow during peak hours. Don’t tap Resend before 90 seconds — it gets you throttled.
  2. Is the +91 prefix correct? No leading zero. Just +91 9XXXXXXXXX (10 digits).
  3. Strong signal? SMS needs cellular signal. If at 1 bar, walk to a window. Wi-Fi alone doesn’t bring SMS.
  4. DND active? Indian DND rules block “promotional” SMS. Transactional SMS (OTPs) should bypass DND, but some Jio/Vi templates get misclassified. See the disable-DND section below.
  5. Spam folder? Check Android’s “Spam & blocked” or iOS “Junk” message folders.
  6. Number recently ported? If you ported between operators in the last 24 hours, OTP delivery lags. Wait 24 hours.

How to disable DND for transactional SMS only

You don’t need to disable ALL DND. Just unblock the “Transactional / OTP” category:

  • Jio: SMS STOP 0 to 1909. Wait 24 hours.
  • Airtel: Call 1909 or use the MyAirtel app → Settings → DND.
  • Vi: SMS STOP 0 to 1909.
  • BSNL: Call 1909.

Things that don’t work (don’t waste time)

  • “Reinstalling the app” — OTP delivery doesn’t depend on the app, it depends on your SMS gateway.
  • “Restarting your phone” — same reason.
  • Using a VPN — actually makes things worse, not better.
  • Calling “Lucky Shots customer care” numbers found online — those are scams. See why.

If support is the only option

Use the in-app ticket system: Profile → Help → Customer Support → New Ticket. Subject: “OTP not arriving — number +91XXX”. Real response time: 8–24 hours.

Why is my Lucky Shots OTP not coming on Jio?

Most often DND throttling. SMS STOP 0 to 1909 to unblock transactional SMS, then wait 24 hours. Also check your phone’s spam/blocked SMS folder.

Can I use email OTP instead?

Some accounts have an email-OTP fallback. Check Profile → Account → Security to bind an email if you haven’t.
